1. Introduction

Master View, a controller which allows a single user to control multiple computers from one Monitor/Keyboard/Mouse set. The CS-106 Master View provides the easiest and the most cost effective way to control multiple computers.

With the powerful features of Master View, anyone is capable of operating or testing lots of computers by a set of monitor, keyboard and mouse. Switching from one computer to the other is easily done by Hot Keys or button pressing. No program to install and no incompatibility problem, because the Master View intercepts the Hot Keys from the keyboard directly.

One Master View controls up to six computers. When cascaded, Master View may control up to 216 computers. A powerful auto-scan feature scans all operational computers one by one and stops upon user request. Master View is ideal for Server, Control Room, Testing, etc.

    3. INSTALLATION

CS-106 is cascadable up to three stages by DIP switch selection.

    1. One Stage:

It enables one CS-106 to control up to six computers, as shown in figure A.

Set the DIP switch to ON. Connect the monitor output, mouse port, and keyboard port of a computer to one of the CS-106's PC1~ PC6 ports by appropriate cables.

    Fig. A

    Fig A.

    2. Two Stages:

It enables one (the first stage) CS-106 to control computers directly or by other cascade (the second stage) CS-106s indirectly as shown in fig B. The maximum number of computers under control is 36.

Set the DIP switch 4 of the first stage CS-106 to ON and all the second stage CS-106's OFF.

    Fig. B

    Fig B.

Computers may be connected to the first stage and second stage CS-106s. Connect the MONITOR, MOUSE, and KBD ports of the second stage CS-106 to one of the first stage CS-106's PC1 ~ PC6 ports by appropriate cables.

    3. Three Stages:

Similar to the Two Stages operation, more computers can be controlled indirectly by the third stage CS-106s as shown in fig C. The maximum number of computers under control is 216.

Set the DIP switch of the first stage CS-106 to ON, and all the second stages and third stage CS-106s to OFF.

    Fig C.

Computers may be connected to the first stage, the second stage, or the third stage CS-106s. Connect the MONITOR, MOUSE, and KBD port of the third stage CS-106 to one of the second stage CS-106's PC1~ PC6 ports by appropriate cables. Likewise, from the second stage CS-106to the first stage CS-106.

After connecting cables from computers to CS-106 and from one CS-106 to the other, you may connect a power adapter to each CS-106and turn on the Master View. The READY LED should be on when a Master View turns on, if not, check the power adapter.
